Privacy policy

Igeret is a service for sending wedding invitations and collecting RSVPs over WhatsApp and the web. We take your privacy — and your guests' privacy — seriously.
What we collect
- Account: email, hashed password, and display name.
- Events: title, date, venue, invitation image, and the invitation content you create.
- Guest list: name, phone number, and party size — as you enter them.
- Guest activity: whether a guest opened their RSVP link, what they responded, and when.
- Technical: IP address, user agent, and basic server logs for security and debugging.
What we don't do
- We never sell or rent guest lists.
- We don't run third-party ad trackers on the product.
- We don't message your guests for our own marketing — only the invitations and reminders you approve.
How we use information
- To deliver WhatsApp invitations to guests you've listed, via the Meta WhatsApp Business Cloud API.
- To show you a live dashboard of responses and head counts.
- To keep a record of who responded and when, so you can refer back to it.
Third-party services
- Meta (WhatsApp Cloud API): used to deliver invitation and reminder messages. Meta processes the phone number and message content according to its own privacy policy.
- Hosting: the service runs on our own dedicated servers. We do not share your guest list with additional third parties.
Retention and deletion
Events and guests are retained while the account is active. You can delete an event from the dashboard — this also removes every guest and RSVP attached to it. To delete your whole account, email hello@igeret.app and we'll complete deletion within 7 business days.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed (bcrypt). All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. API secrets are stored outside of source code.
Children
The service is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data on minors.
Changes
We'll update this page when we make material changes. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the new version.
